Pediatric Dentistry
Our team is dedicated to offering best-in-class pediatric dental services to ensure your children's oral hygiene is the best it can be from childhood to adulthood. Along with our pediatric dental services, we are specialists in helping parents instill healthy habits in their children at a young age while also diagnosing future problems and preventing dental issues later in life.
Invisalign Provider
The goal of Invisalign is to have easy predictable results and to develop young jaws and/or arches to make room for existing teeth and for incoming permanent teeth. Invisalign First aligners are for younger patients and traditional Invisalign works great for teens:
- Designed to treat a broad range of teeth straightening issues in growing children, from simple to complex, including crowding, spacing, and narrow dental arches. Our office utilizes the newest technology from Invisalign including Mandibular Advancement and the Invisalign Palatal Expander.
- Removable for easy hygiene, making it easier for growing children to brush and floss. Avoiding cavities seen from traditional braces.
- Designed for comfort – which means no discomfort from rubbing brackets or poking wires. NO food restrictions like braces.
The iTero Element™ 5D imaging system
At Pediatric Dentistry of Naples, we invest in technology. We use the iTero Element with 5D imaging. This is the most advanced intraoral scanner to date which aids in interproximal caries detection. It provides us with the advanced tools needed to create beautiful smiles allowing us to measure the dental arch and plan for comprehensive Invisalign treatments.
Laser Dentistry
Using our Biolase Waterlase all tissue laser is just another way we utilize the highest level of technology. Dr. Hughes has spent countless hours of study on the benefits of tongue tie and lip tie releases and our laser is the top of the line best laser on the market. It is a minimally invasive laser and unlike other lasers, it does not burn tissue but utilizes the attraction that the Waterlase has to water to create the results on the tissue. Infant tongue tie or lip tie release is beneficial to many new moms and babies. Please call our office and schedule a consultation.
Sedation Dentistry
For children with extensive restorative needs and/or the inability to tolerate traditional in-chair treatment, we work alongside a pediatric anesthesiologist to offer in-office IV sedation. This allows our more apprehensive patients to have all of their dental procedures completed at one time safely and comfortably. Link: https://pediatricsedation.com
Fluoride Varnish
Fluoride works well to strengthen children’s teeth. It also has been shown to help prevent tooth decay in people of all ages.
For this reason, the American Association of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Academy of Pediatrics state that topical fluoride is helpful for good oral health.
Because of this, you may be wondering if your child needs fluoride treatments, our doctors will give recommendations based on your unique situation.
Emergency Dental Care
It is very important to be prepared in case your child has an emergency. Even though we wish that they wouldn’t, emergencies do happen. Being educated and knowing what to do in an emergency can be the difference between losing and saving a tooth. You also need to know your dentist’s phone number.
You need to contact us right away if you are having an emergency! If we are not open, go to the nearest emergency center.
Cavities & Fillings
Dental fillings are used to treat different dental problems like cavities and broken teeth. Teeth are usually filled with a material called composite resin, which is designed to look like natural teeth. Fillings can also be done with gold, porcelain, or silver amalgam.
Composite resin takes a little longer, though most people still prefer it because it creates natural-looking teeth. It takes more than one layer, and a special light is used to harden the area around the filling.
